We take part in McLaren’s Performance Academy to see whether years of racing game experience – and a lot of help from a racing driver – can translate into track time.

The Performance Academy is part of Pure McLaren, an event that essentially gives you free rein of a grand prix circuit from behind the wheel of one of Woking’s finest. Experiences range from product experiences, where you drive one of the company’s cars, or you bring your own road or racing McLaren for up to five hours of track time a day. And the best part is we’ll be getting tuition from Mark Cole, former British Porsche Cup champion and one of the most experienced instructors around. Can we beat a professional racing driver around the Circuit of The Americas?
