A skin biopsy is taking a small piece of skin for diagnosis by looking at the contents under a microscope. There are a variety of things that may require a biopsy: suspicious lesions like moles, skin rashes, or other conditions that are visible on the skin. There are different types of biopsies which include shave, punch, and excision. These biopsies heal very well and usually within a few weeks.
