More than half of the Gaza Strip's population has sought refuge in Rafah, where Israel is conducting near-daily raids as it prepares for a full-scale ground invasion.

Meanwhile, Canada, the U.S. and 16 other countries have issued a joint statement calling for both an immediate ceasefire and the release of all of Hamas’ hostages.
