This week I tackle reproducing the kiddie ride steering wheels for our King Amusement Company Supersonic Rocket ride.

First I create a model in Fusion 360, then I split it to create a 2 piece pattern that I 3D print. I also 3d print a shallow cone to use as a follow board to aid in ramming up the sand mold. Finally the sand mold is created with a bit of drama, but I persevere. All of this with the goal of casting aluminum at home to reproduce vintage pieces that are no longer available.
