Dawn doesn't just take grease out of your way, it takes the seasoning out of your cast iron cookware. Cleaning your cast iron cookware doesn't have to be a dreaded task, in fact properly cleaning your cast iron cookware is a cinch and only take a few minutes. This is the method I use to clean my cast iron cookware, whether it is a skillet or a dutch oven. This method of cleaning ensures that your cast iron cookware is ready to cook when your are. This method will preserve the seasoning in your cast iron cookware. By just adding some water to your cast iron cookware and placing it back on your heat source for a few minutes will allow you to easily wipe all the food particles stuck to the bottom and sides, using nothing but a paper towel and wooden spoon. Then all that is left is to remove it from the heat, wipe it dry, and it will be ready for the next time. Properly cared for Cast iron cookware just continues to get better and better every time you use it. So get out the cooking irons and get cooking!
