Pablo Blanco, a resident of Piedras Albas (Cáceres), was one of those crafty men who would carve a piece of wood to turn it into a spoon, bowl or castanet, or forge a knife from an old sickle, apparently useless. In 1998 I had the opportunity to see step by step how he made wooden castanets.
