Webinar: System Archetypes for Understanding and Solving Sustainability Problems

 Published On Apr 7, 2023

Archetype analysis, which involves looking for and understanding patterns in data, is a useful tool that can provide insights into the dynamics of socio-environmental systems.

In this recorded webcast, Dr. Sondoss Elsawah, of the University of New South Wales Canberra, introduces the concept of archetypes; discusses some of the most common archetypes, including their application in research; and describes how the use of archetypes can facilitate the socio-environmental modeling process.

Later, panelists Drs. Juan C. Rocha, Renee Obringer, and Laura Schmitt-Olabisi present how they have used archetype analysis in their own research to address socio-environmental problems. The webcast concludes with the presenter and panelists answering audience members’ questions.
