How Do I Enter The Rest Of God?

Even AFTER coming to know Jesus, we can SO EASILY be lead away from the heart of God for us, EVEN IN THE NAME OF CHRISTIANITY, as we take on agendas and ideas of all kinds that steal our attention from the ONE THING that God would REALLY have us do every moment and every day.

This morning in prayer The Lord reminded me of one of the very first encounters I had with Him where God showed me something so unexpected, and yet so loving, so full of The FATHER's heart, and so full of goodness. God corrects those He loves, and The Holy Spirit corrected me this morning the same way he corrected me years ago.

Romans 8 6 says those who have their heart and mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the SPIRIT is life and peace. It is so easy to get into our natural/sensual mind and become restless, anxious, tormented and fearful. NONE OF THIS is from GOD. GOD, by His Spirit ministers LIFE and PEACE as we draw near to Him through faith in Jesus Christ and the finished work of the cross.

The cares of the world, the pride of life, the lusts of the flesh, they all SCREAM for us to be their slaves, but we have been FREED from slavery to sin and we have been made LOVE SLAVES of Jesus Christ, who loved us first, who gave Himself for us. The FRUIT of faith is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. When we are abounding in that fruit because GALATIANS 2 20 is at work in us, 'it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me,' then we not only have that good fruit IN US, but the fruit of the SPIRIT IS what impacts the world around us.

When we are in striving, fear, and flesh, we CANNOT PLEASE GOD, and it is all vanity. When we ENTER THE REST through sincere faith that IT IS FINISHED, man the DEVIL HATES when christians GET THIS, when they get that Jesus meant what He said, "apart from Me you can do nothing."

This prophetic word came out of our prayer time this morning as the Lord asked ME if I was ready to come back and enter the rest. I had thought God was leading us into a very specific and strategic step of faith. Suddenly some very confusing changes and unexpected events took place and seemed to stop us in our tracks. I was NEARLY OFFENDED with God, and was on an emotional rollercoaster until this morning in prayer when I was reminded of the OPEN VISION FROM GOD back in the early days of my walk with The Lord. The vision is all about staying in step with Jesus, who promised that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. When we pull against the yoke we have taken on with The Lord Jesus, either by falling behind in the flesh and its lusts and sin, or by running ahead in pride or misguided expectation of how His promise is going to come to pass in our lives, we weary ourselves and frustrate our walk with God.

THIS IS HOW YOU ENTER THE REST OF GOD:
Romans 8:6 and Galatians 2:20
Set your mind back on the SPIRIT who IS WITH YOU NOW, not the situations that come and go moment by moment. The SPIRIT GOD GAVE YOU is with you EVEN to the end of the age to be your comforter and to assure you of you SEAL OF REDEMPTION through JESUS CHRIST. He is an EVER present help in times of trouble. If it really is that we are crucified with christ, it is no longer I who live but Christ living in me, than there is nothing in heaven or earth that can separate us from the love of God and we have perfect peace because we are SECURE in the love God has for us. If God says GO we will GO if God says STAY we will STAY, if situations run contrary to what WE THOUGHT we heard from God, we know that GOD is not a man that He could lie and His word will not return void, so either we heard wrong and can let it go, or we rest in the security of His promise.
