Some things are absolutely indispensable in our world of diminishing resources. In the American west where we suffer so much from drought, any water-saving device is a must (like dual flush toilets). But so are systems meant to extend the use of water that's still perfectly good for something else: like greywater. Why greywater? For starters, even just a simple washing machine diversion can put THOUSANDS OF GALLONS OF WATER back into your landscape...WHY send such a precious and valuable resource to your septic or sewer?? Put it into your surroundings and make your space greener and more fire-resistant!
