Whizzing through the air and dodging various obstacles, eight pilots wearing Jet Suits competed along the Dubai's harbour in what organisers said was the world's first Jet Suit Race.

The event was established by a a company pioneering Jet Suits - Gravity Industries - in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council. It took place over the course of several hours on Wednesday (February 28).

The participants, most of whom were pilots affiliated with Gravity Industries, competed in pairs with a knock-out round for the finalists.
