Leg swelling is very common after hip surgery. Surgery makes the soft tissues swell up, slowing down the flow of blood and lymph back into the circulation. It can take several weeks for it to settle down. If you are worried about it, then contact the hospital where you had surgery so that they can rule out a blood clot (DVT).
