Syria’s Silence is a cooperation between Fisheye VR and VRT journalist Jens Franssen. After a VR bootcamp by Fisheye, Jens travelled to Syria with his team consisting of camera operator Patrick and sound operator Tine. When they came back, Fisheye VR and Jens Franssen edited the story together.

The result is 2 VR documentaries that put you in the middle of the Syrian landscape. You are standing literally in the middle of the conflict that is terrorizing the region.

“Al-Shaddadi is located just a few kilometres from the frontlines with terror movement IS. The city has just been liberated. But most of the inhabitants have since long fled from the terror. It’s a ghost town where the rubble is still piling up in the streets. A strange, gloomy tension is in the air.” dixit Jens Franssen. And now you can experience it for yourself.
