Yankees Top Prospect Trey Sweeney, the Yankees No. 1 Pick in 2021 put up solid numbers numbers across the board. The Lefty power-hitting Shortstop smacked 39 XBH between Hudson Valley and Somerset. Sweeney slashed .240/.349/.413 across both levels, hitting 19 Doubles, 4 Triples and 16 HRs while swiping 31/34 bases.

Sweeney started the season with Hudson Valley and eventually was promoted to Somerset after Peraza/Volpe were promoted. Although Sweeney only logged 50 ABs at Somerset, he was able to bump his BB% Rate from 12.9% to 14% and cut his K% from 23.5% to 20%. He will most likely begin 2023 as Somerset’s Shortstop.
