In response to COVID-19 PPE needs, Formlabs user Luiz Maracaja and colleagues at Yale School of Medicine devised a novel face shield frame called Oxyframe. See what you can print to support COVID-19 shortages: https://bit.ly/3BnOvZv
Oxyframe has an air channel system that allows the inflow of oxygen or compressed air behind the ear and outflow above the nose-bridge. A standard transparency sheet can be used as a protective face shield. This system enables users to breathe comfortably inside a full hood, while simultaneously defogging the face shield film.
A peer-reviewed paper on this technology was recently accepted to the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia.
