Hey everyone, Mike at Magic Muffler & Brake here with a new video for you guys. For those of you wondering what happened to the Flowmasters, this one is for you. Today we've got a 1977 Chevy C10 project truck that has a newly rebuilt Chevy 350 small block running shorty headers and our 100% custom hand built (as always) exhaust system. The system features our ever popular "X" pipe and a set of Flowmaster 40 series Mufflers. As you can hear these Flowmasters, while not the loudest of their product line, as still a fairly aggressive muffler. They have a very deep rumbling tone, which really enhances that "Hot Rod" sound of the old school style engine by accentuating the sound of a loping idle. These mufflers sound great on any V8 engine, whether old school or new school as they give your ride that signature muscle car sound that still defines the genre. While it might be a lesser point of interest, for all of you that are running pre-emissions style vehicles, i.e. no catalytic converters, these mufflers can also help you with something some of our other popular mufflers can't, namely, back pressure. Most of the high performance mufflers we carry here are of a "straight thru" design, and while the Flowmasters are still a high flow muffler, they actually have a couple of sound baffles inside the muffler that can help you with some needed back pressure without being restrictive in the least.
