2019 is the year of new light duty pickup trucks here in North America, and the big game changer comes from Chrysler with the all-new 2019 RAM 1500 Limited.

We have been looking to drive this 5th generation RAM pickup truck for quite some time now. Loaded with new technology and new mechanics, the 2019 RAM 1500 Limited sets the benchmark for pickup trucks to come. After driving both the 2018 GMC Sierra Denali & 2019 Ford F-150 Platinum this past year, we wanted to see what the third of America's big three automakers had in store for their top-selling vehicle.

Our full tour & review of the 2019 RAM 1500 Limited is the most comprehensive and in-depth episode of TestDrive Spotlight we've ever produced. We demonstrate as much of this car as possible, including the exterior and interior features and take the car on a road test during the winter. We show the front and rear parking sensors, power folding mirrors, automatic running boards, 4 corner air suspension, easy-open tailgate, tri-fold tonneau cover, and the exterior design of the 2019 Dodge Ram 1500.

Inside we go over all the technology and features, such as the 12" customizable Uconnect infotainment system, 19 speaker Harmon/Kardon audio system, in-cluster gauge computer, leather seating, front and rear heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, reclining rear seats, power front seats, all the storage options, and the panoramic dual-pane sunroof.

We take the RAM 1500 Limited on a road test with it's 5.7L Hemi V8 engine with FuelSaver MDS cylinder deactivation matted to the 8 speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. We talk about the 4x4 capabilities of this light duty pickup truck testing it in Canadian winters, including heavier snow fall and un-cleared roadways.

We wrap up our episode of TestDrive Spotlight on the RAM 1500 with a list of our likes and dislikes about the 5th generation Chrysler pickup truck, including what we hope to see for future model years, and how the competition from the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra can catch up.
