On this special Good Friday edition of the Watchman Newscast, host Erick Stakelbeck and Danny "The Digger" Herman visit one of the scenes of Jesus's ministry: the ancient fishing village of Magdala, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Magdala was the scene of one of the most important archaeological finds of the past century when in 2009, archaeologists uncovered the remains of a 2,000 year old synagogue where Jesus almost certainly taught. Inside, they found the Magdala Stone, featuring symbols of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. Magdala is also thought to be the hometown of Mary Magdalene.
