With the recent release of the new iPad Pro, we wanted to do a comparison between goodnotes 5 vs notability, which in our opinion are still the two best digital note taking apps.

These two apps do an amazing job simulating the handwriting experience, and if you have the chance to get your hands on a paperlike screen protector and the apple pencil, it doesn't get any better than this. There are some key differences and unique features that set these two apps apart from each other, but we wouldn't say that one is hands down better than the other. It really depends on what kind of student you are, and what kind of study experience you prefer. In this video, we will be covering all their similarities as well, and even talk about their subtle differences in those similarities. Our goal by the end of the video is to help you decide which one is the best fit for you, because these apps aren't free! Of note: we don't talk about the price in our comparison because a) the price that you pay for these apps far outweighs and out-values the price you would have paid had you bought pens/paper/notebooks/binders b) they are essentially the same price in the app store, except notability has extra in app purchases that you can consider.

**UPDATE!! We found that you can also make Stencils using Notability, by using the Lasso tool and removing your stencil from the image and then deleting the image. This will require an extra step compared to GoodNotes 5, so GoodNotes 5 still has the advantage! (In terms of workflow)
