We are so happy to be finally going to the desert in Namibia.We are in the northwest of Namibia, also called Kaokoland. This is one of the wildest and least populated regions in Namibia, the Land of the Himba.

We are going to try to get from Opuwo to Orupembe through the D3707. the weather was beautiful when we started until it wasn't anymore. Big showers pass by our route discharging water in the whole valley. And the place turns into an ice rink and we start struggling to get through. This challenges our Offroading skills, big time.

We were not aware of the magnitude until later. And realized we were in the middle of a Flashflood. We had to get out and drive fast to cross the Hoarusib River before it got too big. Three river crossings in the Kaokoland, three rivers to walk and check before crossing.
