From September 5-7, more than 120 defense officials representing 14 nations throughout southeast Asia gathered in Singapore to discuss the critical role of partnerships and alliances in the Indo-Pacific. Their connection? They are all Naval Postgraduate School alumni

Hosted by NPS' International Graduate Programs Office (IGPO), the first-ever NPS Regional Alumni Symposium helped advance a key objective of the Secretary of the Navy’s strategic guidance – strengthening strategic partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State as part of the International Military Education Training (IMET) program, the symposium featured three days of plenary sessions and panels covering a range of regional security topics, facilitated by NPS educators who also provided updates on current research in emerging technologies, and innovation initiatives to accelerate applications.
