This is the new 2022 model of the NordicTrack RW900 Rower. It has a new design and is very quiet to use. The large 22” touch screen is iFit enabled to display trainer-led classes that are filmed in a studio setting as well as in locations all around the world. iFit comes free for the first month and we highly recommend subscribing to get full functionality out of the RW900 Rower.

iFit serves as a complete training program with classes on and off the rower. The 22” touch screen swivels so you can take mat classes as well as rowing ones. Pretty much everything is accessed through the touch screen, except for the volume buttons found in between the front-facing speakers.

The NordicTrack RW900 Rower doesn’t fold but can be stored upright to save space. There are also front wheels under the front stabilizer so it can be moved if needed. The stabilizers and monorail are steel and make this rower feel incredibly stable. Although it only has a 250 weight limit, so it won’t be best for users over that capacity.

A belt connects the handle to the flywheel to make rowing smooth and quiet. Other rowers that use a chain can make excess noise. The NordicTrack RW900 Rower is extremely quiet because of this belt and the adjustable magnetic resistance. The resistance has 26 levels and can be changed on the touch screen. The magnetic resistance is very quiet so this rower is suitable for all types of spaces, including shared spaces.

One thing to be aware of with magnetic resistance is that it isn’t best for advanced and strong rowers because it might not be enough tension to row against. Rowers with air resistance offer unlimited tension and are best for these types of users. We also noticed that the belt does lose a little bit of tension in the finish and recovery, it’s not too noticeable just something to be aware of.

The handle and pedals provide nice comfort to make using this rower easy and straightforward. The seat sits up pretty high so it’s easy to get on and off of too. The pedals are adjustable and work with any type of athletic shoe to hold your foot in place and offer some ankle flexion at the catch.

The seat is less contoured that others we’ve used, so there’s less of a cut-out for your tailbone. We prefer a bit more contouring, but the RW900’s seat has nice padding to provide some comfort.

Overall, we like the new 2022 design and if you’re looking for a quiet, stable rower for your home that has very interactive programming, we suggest taking a look at the NordicTrack RW900 Rower.
