I wanted to make another custom part for my car. I decided on a license plate delete, a simple cosmetic mod that is placed on the front of the car where the license plate would go. Subaru's have a place for them molded into the front bumper so I matched its size and shape.
I wanted to pay homage to Subaru by designing it to be a boxer engine. In a boxer style engine, the cylinders lay flat, unlike a V or an inline engine.
I was originally just going to do a single piece to show the shape of the engine. After printing it out and placing it on the car, I liked the design... but I thought I could take it another step further by adding lights to it to mimic the cylinders firing.

About the wiring as Ive gotten several comments here and on reddit about it. There is really no other way I could route it. Firstly, I really do not want to drill more holes into the bumper. Even if I did, it wouldnt be much use as the bumper structure is right behind it. This includes a thick steel brace that is an enclosed structure several inches wide. Also, the rectangular holes (what I originally hoped to use) are blocked also by the bumper structure. There really isnt any options. I would have loved to hide the wires but it just isnt all that possible without a lot of extra drilling.
