Support us on Patreon:   / digitalmimbar   After the amazing tafseer of Surah Qaf, we now move on to Surah Waqiyyah from the 27th Juzz of the Qur'an.

Extremely powerful in its narrative, Surah Waqiyyah tells us that all of mankind will ultimately be grouped into three: As-Saabiqoon (The Foremost Ones), Ashaab al Yameen (People of the Right Hand), Ashaab ash Shimaal (People of the Left Hand). Allah, then, describes the state of each group: the pleasures in Jannah for Ashaab al Yameen and utter desolation and punishment for Ashaab ash Shimaal as a recompense for what their hands earned.

Allah makes us ask ourselves: How can people disbelieve in Him when His Signs are so widespread? And finally, towards the end of the Surah, Allah describes the moment of death and how those who disbelieve will not be able to return the soul back to the body. Once the moment of death is upon us, each soul shall either be from the Yameen or the Shimaal. And their ultimate treatment will depend on their deeds in this world.
