In this video, watch as I carve a wood spirit whistle from a 1" by 1" by 6 " block of basswood. You could also refer to these caricature cavings as hillbillies or wizards. This will make a great gift for kids or grandkids. You can also attach them to a lanyard. I'll be using my very sharp and efficient DHK knife. And my Flexcut detail knife. I finish the carving with various acrylic paints.
