2022 marks the 40th year since the adoption of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) on 30 April 1982.

Ambassador Tommy Koh was President of the Third UN Conference on the Law of the Sea and played a pivotal role in the negotiations, conclusion and adoption of UNCLOS.
