The video is made in blender and rendered using EEVEE. It’s been a great learning project to get to grips with real-time rendering and optimizing my 3D workflow. The final renders aren’t real-time due to high model geometry and volumetrics. Still very fast compared to a path tracer though.

There's roughly a 50-50 split between hand animation and motion capture from mixamo. This saved so much time and allowed me to focus on animating the facial expressions + dialogue.

Character materials are made from scratch in substance painter. The environments are mainly PBR image textures and extruded stills.

Homer Jay Simpson is one of the main characters of the American animated sitcom The Simpsons. He is voiced by Dan Castellaneta and first appeared, along with the rest of his family, in The Tracey Ullman Show short "Good Night" on April 19, 1987. Homer Simpson was created and designed by cartoonist Matt Groening. He named the character after his father, Homer Groening. After appearing for three seasons on The Tracey Ullman Show, the Simpson family got their own series on Fox, which debuted December 17, 1989. The show was later acquired by Disney in 2019.
