When youre afraid to fall in love
Giving your all may feel like a risk
As if youre gambling off your heart without guarantee that youll get anything back
Youll move as if youll only be able to wear it like a weight on your shoulders
So you begin to believe that youre better off maneuvering on your own
you give yourself reasons to close yourself off
You train your mind to believe that love
Is a figment of your imagination
That it can only exist in the deepest parts of you
And even though you know that this isnt the truth
You fight demons that continue to use your past relationships as proof that love is better left alone
I want you to know that your experiences are not a reflection of what is to come.
That love will take many forms in your lifes journey but it is never meant to detroy you along the way
You are worthy of a love that loves you back
That fills in the space between your heart and your mind
And feels as natural as an intake of your breath
Your love can not be shaped without experience
So dont be intimidated by your failt lines
I know, that love seems to have never treated you carefully
But you failed to see that it wasnt love that was causing you pain
You must consider the love you create to be art
And anyone who cannot see its value
Shouldnt be welcomed in your home.
Let this be a reminder that you are more than capable of giving love
And worthy of receiving it
So, dont be afraid of the fall
if you never allow yourself to fall in love
Youll never know a love worth falling into.
