My lawn looks great but I think it can be better. When I put in my golf green I felt like I was choosing the best seed for my situation. I chose it off of color more than anything else knowing that it had a few other benefits going for it like disease resistance and good playability. What I found however, is that it doesn't quite grow the way that I want it to.

In my scenario, looks were the most important thing. But now after two seasons with the grass, I'm really not happy with my choice. So consider this a cautionary tale, it is highly likely that I am going to kill all the grass, and do a complete renovation. As we get into the aeration and over seeding time, lawn renovation time and so forth, choices must be made. I have two different grassy types that I'm looking at now because they were more specifically fit what I want out of my putting green.

Just because the grass looks good in some locations, doesn't mean it's going to fit yours perfectly. A lot of states have recommendations for grass types on their extension websites. It may be worth a look at what the experts have chosen for your specific area before you go buying seed that just seems like it's the best.
