One of the most common questions I see floating around the BMW community is if big intercoolers are overkills on FBO (Full bolt ons) cars. Some think you will get slower turbo spool, less responsiveness and overall a slower car. I've had my fair share of experience with my e93 335i by running a VRSF 7.5" Race Front Mount Intercooler and Honestly never felt like the car was negatively affected. Today I have the guys at Precision Sport Industries install a intercooler onto my BMW E90 335i and have them answer the question many have been curious about.
