Iconic comedian Jerry Seinfeld turns 70 years old on 29 April - just a few days before his movie directorial debut "Unfrosted" is released.

Born 29 April 1954 in New York, Seinfeld began his comedy career in the city in the 1970s, as a 21-year-old fledgling stand-up, accepting free hamburgers in lieu of a paycheck.

He went on to be known as arguably the greatest stand-up comic of his era and the pivotal figure of the funniest TV sitcom of its time.
