Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th-wheel to gooseneck pin box. Now, this 5th-wheel to gooseneck adapter box is going to let you tow your fifth wheel trailer with your gooseneck hitch attaching to your truck's 2 5/16 gooseneck hitch ball. Now, this is designed to replace your Lippert 1621 and 1621 HD 5th-wheel pin boxes on your trailer. And this is going to mount right in place of that pin box and these mounting holes are going to be the same, so you'll be able to reuse your original hardware to bolt this right into place.

Now, I do wanna mention, because Gen-Y Hitch Executive is shorter than the Lippert 1621 or the 1621 HD Pin Box, the clearance between your trailer and tow vehicle during turns might be reduced. So just so you're aware of that. Now, the installation is going to be relatively simple, but this pin box is heavy. I needed someone else to help me get this up on my table for our demonstration purposes today. So you'll definitely want at least a second set of hands to help you with the installation, to help you lower your old pin box, and then to lift this one into place while you are mounting it into place.

So just be aware of that. It'd be good to have that extra support when you are installing this. Now, this is made here in the USA of a heavy duty steel construction. This has a towing capacity of 21,000 pounds and a pin weight capacity range from 1,500 pounds to 3,500 pounds. Now, the pin weight capacity range is due to Gen-Y's shock absorbing design, which is going to ensure a smooth and steady ride.

Their technology functions like a torsion axle to limit transfer of road shock from the trailer to truck and vice versa, reducing chucking and rough (indistinct) motion. It also limits bounce and jarring up and down motion. As this cutaway demonstrates here, built into Gen-Y's pin boxes are tubes with inner bars that are surrounded by rubber cords, and as the coupler end moves, these inner bars twist inside of the tubes, attempting to follow the coupler's motion, but the rubber cords are going to prevent the bars from twisting too far. And as each bar turns, these cord are going to compress to absorb the rough shock. So this means that any shock experienced by your truck can be absorbed before it reaches your trailer and the shock experienced by your trailer is not going to get transferred to your truck.

Another benefit of this type of system is that there are no airbags to maintain and fewer moving parts to repair or replace than with other shock-absorbing solutions. While we're here, I wanted to talk about briefly Gen-Y's Snap Latch Coupler. This is going to secure to your hitch ball with a self-latching design. And I do have a 2 5/16 inch ball right here. And I just wanted to give you a brief demonstration. So as you can see, I have this ready to receive this ball. So I'm just gonna go ahead and slide the ball into the coupler, and then that automatically latches. So now my ball is securely in place. And then when I'm ready to release it, all I have to do is turn this, move my hand here so you can see, turn this, and then that's going to allow me to release from the ball, to disconnect from the ball. So very simple operation. Again, just to show you, locked right into place. And then when you're ready to remove, just like that. So this also includes, as you've probably already seen here, let me bring this into view so you can see. This also includes a latch hook. So you can open the latch from outside of the bed of your truck. So that latch hook is included with this. And then the cross-shaped holes that you see here, those cross-shaped holes are on both sides to give you attachment points for safety chains. And so on your screen, I am including our item number for Gen-Y safety chains. Safety chains are not included with this. So if you do not already have safety chains on your screen, you can just take that item number that you see there, put it in the search bill of our website, that will take you to that safety chain and you can add that to your order if you so desire. This does feature a durable silver vein powder coat finish that's going to help resist wear and corrosion. And as you might know, Gen-Y has a great reputation of b
