If we want to compare smokers with non-smokers to assess the risk of lung cancer we should use cohort studies, but if we compare lung cancers with healthy individuals and see how smoking is contributing then it is a case-control study. Sounds confusing isn't it :/?? Well, not after the coming 5 mins. In this video we will discuss different observational study types, and compare and contrast between them. Enjoy!
Oh, and by the way, regardless whether you use cohort or case-control, smoking definitely increases your risk of getting lung cancer!
