On Arkansas Week with Dawn Scott...
It is estimated that Arkansas can expect anywhere between 300,000 and 1 million people the first weekend in April leading up to the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th. How will this affect traffic and public safety? State officials joining the program to talk about how the state is preparing for this event are Lorie Tudor, director for the Arkansas Department of Transportation and A. J. Gary. Also, find out how to watch the eclipse on Arkansas PBS.
The state has received $30 million in funding to improve mental health and substance abuse services. Leadership at the Arkansas Department of Human Services discuss the plan, which consists of several initiatives to address treatment and support. Guests include Cabinet Secretary Kristi Putnam, Deputy Secretary Janet Mann of Programs and Director of Medicaid, and Melissa Weatherton, Director of Specialty Medicaid Populations.
