Al salam alaykom Brothers and Sister, This video addresses people who have decided to become Muslim however they don't know what comes after they take their Shahada (they've made their declaration of faith).

The Shahada or declaration of faith for those who don't know is the gateway to becoming a Muslim. To become a Muslim you need to say:

Ash-hadu An La ilaha illah Allah, Wa Ash-hadu ana Muhamadan Abduhu Wa Rasuluh

I bear witness that there is nothing worthy of Worship except Allah and that Muhammed is his Slave and Final Messenger.

These are the things we advise you to do after you take your Shahada:

1. You need to start learning how to Pray (#Salah) to make Wudu and Ghusl (Purification).
2. Stop Drinking Alcohol and intoxicants or at least wean yourself gradually from it.
3. If you are in a Haram (impermissible) relationship you need to also stop this relationship. You need to sit with the person you are having this impermissible relationship with and talk to them about your new faith. Ideally you should have done this before you became Muslim and so they are not caught off guard by it.
4. You need to start educating yourself in the deen of Islam the 5 pillars of Islam and the 6 Articles of Faith.
5. You need to get yourself a Mentor. Someone who is a practicing Muslim that can help answer your questions.
6. Avoid gatherings where there are mixing of the 2 sexes in case that is a trigger for you to get involved in fornication or intoxication.
7. If you have a gambling problem, you need to resolve this matter as it is 1000% haram
8. You need to reconnect with your parents and start treating them nicely (with kindness and respect).
9. You need to reevaluate the people you hang out with you need to see if these people are a good or bad influence on you and you need to start making some Muslim friends.
10. You need to review your means of making a living. Is it halal or are you working in a bar or a bank or a strip club or whatever.
