LOOKING for a low-cost way to fix your exhaust system? The most challenging exhaust fix is from the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold. The temperatures are too high for most typical materials. The only material suitable is refractory cement. The big problem with this cement... it's brittle as glass. It is also very challenging to weld a hole shut on an exhaust system because the steel is so thin. In this video I show a technique on how to make a porous welded structure that is very easy to do on thin walls of steel. Then you use the refractory cement (furnace cement) to seal the entire system. I’ve made some of these repairs and they are still functioning as they should.
