Stacey M. Hurst, MA, BC-DMT, LCPC, GLCMA is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago's Dance/Movement therapy program where she earned the Master's of Arts in Dance/movement therapy and the Graduate Laban Certificate in Movement Analysis. After receiving her Clinical Professional Counseling License, she was invited to teach in the department as a part-time faculty member and tasked with the development of the Movement Observation and Analysis courses based on the work of Rudolf Laban, Irmgard Bartenieff and Judith Kestenberg. As a board certified dance/movement therapist Stacey has continued to teach these and various other courses within the department.

Since 2003 Stacey has owned Mind Body Connections, a flourishing private practice, located in Warrenville, IL where she sees adolescents and adults for a variety of mental health issues. She supervises up and coming therapists; consults in program development; and creates and facilitates workshops for the lay person as well as verbal therapists interested in understanding the power of movement.
