Today we are power raking this nice little lawn. After a season of growth, lawns tend to develop a layer of dead material known as thatch that can limit your lawns potential. With a nice tool known as a power rake or detahtcher you can easily go over the lawn and rake out all of the dead debris leaving the live grass and open dirt.

In this video we take our Husqvarna power rake and go over this lawn in 2 directions trying to hit the lawn from every angle to maximize thatch removal. We ended up removing about 1 yard of dead grass material from this little lawn. Doing this every year helps your lawn receive water and nutrients which in turn allows it to grow healthier and stronger.
