It’s so satisfying watching Disney animated movies as an adult and spotting all the hidden puns in them that totally went over our heads when we watched the films as kids. These Disney jokes range from funny little word plays to adult humor that gives us all a wink-wink, nudge-nudge moment. Zazu from “The Lion King” is very good at the former, riffing on all sorts of animal puns. And Anna is particularly keen on the latter, in both “Frozen” and “Frozen 2” – to hilarious effect. When you examine them closely, there are characters that you’d never realized are actually full of jokes, like Jafar. It’s easy to miss them, what with the Genie providing so many “Aladdin” puns. It’s amazing just how many of these moments crop up when you watch these nostalgic classics back. It’s as if they’re actually made for adults, rather than kids!

We’ve got Disney puns from all your favorite childhood films. Like Mushu’s funniest lines from the original “Mulan” animation, and Cogsworth’s puns from “Beauty and the Beast” that he finds so amusing he even makes himself laugh. Vanellope also can’t stop laughing when she goes on a long riff about a funnily pronounced word in “Wreck-It Ralph”. There are cultured jokes and adult jokes in “Toy Story”, plus unexpected moments of humor and comments on society’s assumptions in our pick of “Zootopia” jokes that you only get as an adult. From “Monsters Inc.” and its yellow snow cones to Syndrome’s inappropriate supervillain costume in “The Incredibles”, it’s all here.
