This was the moment Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was told three of his sons had been killed in an Israeli airstrike.

He received the news while visiting a hospital in Doha, Qatar, where he lives in exile.

The brothers were reportedly on their way to a family celebration to mark the first day of Eid al-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

Four of Haniyeh’s grandchildren were also killed when a missile struck the vehicle they were travelling in.
