In our videos we always center punch a small depression in the metal before we drill. So we figured it was time to show you exactly why we do that.

Sometimes it is the simplest things that matter and if you don't understand how to get the drill to drill where you want it, this video will show you how.

It does not matter if you are using a hand drill or a drill press or even a milling machine, if you have a drill bit, it will wander on the surface, flex and bend and ultimately drill in some random location. Unless, you give it a starting point.

Center punches will do that for you and they are only a dollar or so and last a lifetime. So go buy one, invest in your ability to drill holes exactly where you want them.
