For the last few weeks 14 different seed starting mixes were put to the test to see how they would perform against each other. We tested Miracle Gro, ProMix, Hoffman, Ferry Morse, and Fox farms Happy Frog, Ocean Forest and Light Warrior. We also tested two types of Jiffy seed starter, Espoma, Back to the Roots, SucSeed, and even made a few blends to see if we could get even better results. As a bonus we have results from a 4 week seed starting trial that shows how the seedlings did for an extended time in some of these mixes.
