Triton Had A Secret Motive For Banishing Ursula? | Disney's The Little Mermaid

Even as children, the idea that Ursula wanted to exact her revenge on King Triton simply because she was banished from the Kingdom always seemed a little bit lackluster. Thankfully, since then the world around The Little Mermaid has grown with sequels, prequels, TV series, and even books that have been released. Even The Little Mermaid on Broadway managed to add more depth to some of the characters in the magical universe. And after combing through all of these side stories and sequels, it’s become easier and easier to piece together the true origin and history of Ursula. Sadly, it looks like she and Triton were destined to butt heads with one another, though, to be honest, the King of the Sea seemed to have it out for the Sea Witch first.
