Join us as Reece Chandler and Rory Smith give some insight into how they utilize hospital yards within the Scandia Honey Operation.

Hospital yards are apiaries used to isolate diseased colonies from the rest of the beekeeping operation while they can be treated. This practice will not only reduce the spread of the disease to healthy colonies, but also facilitate disease monitoring and treatment since beekeepers will no longer need to drive throughout their operation to inspect and treat infected colonies.
