Artist Grayson Perry takes a maker’s approach to exploring the Lyte Jewel – an enamelled gold locket encrusted with diamonds. It was a gift given by James I for an illuminated ancestry proclaiming his legitimacy as King of England. Grayson finds the miniature portrait an exquisite highlight.
