In this quick setup guide, learn how to add a custom 404 page to WordPress with Divi and Divi Switch.

Divi Switch eliminates steps by letting you set any page you create as your 404 page. It’s the fastest option, great if you plan on making minor tweaks over time, and easy to maintain.

To get started, from the WordPress dashboard go to the Pages menu and click "Add New".

You can name your page anything you like but for this example, I’m gonna use 404.

Click on Use Divi builder.

Select the build from scratch option or if you have a layout you can use that by clicking the choose a premade layout option.

I am going to use the Build from scratch option.

Create your custom layout here. I already imported our exclusive 404 layout member pack. So I am going to click to add a new section.

Click Add From the Library and choose the layout I want to use.

Now with the style added I am going publish the page and exit.

Once you’ve published your page, go to Divi, Divi Switch, and under the Main Content tab, scroll to the Custom 404 Page option, and select the desired page in the dropdown menu.

Click Save, and that’s it.

Now when your visitors click a broken link of land on a page that does not exist, your custom 404 page will appear.
