Join harpist Maija Lindaas as she shares trivia about and her favorite pieces of Turlough O' Carolan, a blind Irish Celtic harper, composer, and singer who lived from 1670-1738.

Maija fell in love with the harp the first time she saw one when she was about 5 years old. After many years of begging her parents, they finally relented when she was 10 and let her begin harp lessons. Maija spent her adolescence and teenage years playing classical music in symphonies and orchestras until discovering the banjo and folk music in college. Since then, she has delved headfirst into Celtic, Appalachian, and Norwegian folk music, enjoying a good session (where people gather to play Celtic music, usually in bars) whenever she can find one (in normal, non-pandemic times, that is!). Currently, she lives in Midcoast Maine on a miniature homestead in her tiny house and enjoys growing food and playing music with her neighbors.
