Do you ever see dark black, green, or brown stains on a wood floor? This is pretty common. It’s usually the result of 1 of three things.
1. Dog urine
2. Cat urine
3. Chemicals

If it sits on the hardwood floor, especially under a rug or carpet where it can’t evaporate or get cleaned up, it soaks deep within the pores of a hardwood floor. The old homes where the hardwoods were covered by carpet for many years are always the ones with the most staining.

In this video, we are finishing an old red oak floor where there is extreme staining throughout the flooring planks. We will talk about the different methods for dealing with these dark stains or spots on your wood floor. The main methods are using some type of chemical compound to remove them, replacing the wood itself, or staining the wood dark.
