My 3D Printer Origin Story and this Spongebob Meme 3D Print
When my principal offered me a 3D Printer for my tech classroom several years back I said, no they are too expensive and what are my students going to print on them? A bunch of plastic toys? I did eventually say yes and I caught the 3D printing bug with three Creality printers running in my home office. Do I take 3D printing seriously? Yes! Do I print plenty of toys? Yes again. This 3D printed meme of Spongebob truly reminds us 3D printer enthusiasts that no matter how many hours we spend trying to prevent a clog or get that perfect levelled bed, we need to make sure not to take 3D printing too seriously.

3D printers print toys too!

I printed this model using Jarees PLA filament(Link at the bottom) in the only color that makes sense for a 3D printed Spongebob, Yellow! ⅔ of the way through the first 3D print I got a reminder of why we just have to laugh at ourselves sometimes. The 3D model stopped right before the 3D Printed sign’s text began so I was left with most of a sign and a bunch of 3D printed Spaghetti on top. Watch for a clip of this part of the print in the outtakes.

How Time Lapse 3D Prints Work
After each .1 MM layer( That is barely thicker than a sheet of paper!) the 3D printer pauses, moves the extruder to the rear of the printer, takes a photo and then continues the print giving the illusion of the print appearing from thin air.
