What do you think is the most amount of luxury you can get out of a car for under 15k? When my friend asked me that question, I began researching all the highly depreciated executive sedans from the past 10 years. After searching through multiple BMW 750i and 760i’s, along with the Audi A8, I landed on this… The 2013 Mercedes Benz S550.

I ditched the Audi A8 because of the awful reliability (which all three cars share, although my belief is that the Audi ranks worst in reliability), and skipped on the BMW 7 series because of the boring styling and lousy interior quality at the time. Some may disagree, but I made my decision based on first hand experience with all three of these cars.

I remember when this model Mercedes Benz S550 was first released, I was working as a valet in West Hollywood at a prestigious hotel. We had so many of these cars drop off celebrities, it was engraved in my mind as the ultimate VIP treatment in the car world. Granted, a budget of $15,000 will net you a very high mileage S class, although we did find this one from a family friend who we trust has taken tremendous care of the car.

There are some signs of aging, theres no doubt. These signs can be seen and heard all throughout the interior. But why should you care about some aging leather or a squeaky strut if the sound is coming from about 5 feet away? This car is MASSIVE. The legroom in the rear is just next level spacious. These executive cars are often referred to as land-yachts due to the high level of body roll thanks to the air suspension. That combined with the heavy weight of a car like this, you get a hell of a side ride.
