After over 18 months of closure, Adelaide Metro’s Gawler Railway line finally reopened to the public today (12 June 2022)! This morning I travelled on the first ever electric passenger train service from Adelaide to Gawler Central, let’s see if there’s any improvement in passenger experience.

The Gawler Lions Club usually holds a Sunday Market every week at Gawler Railway Station. To celebrate the newly electrified rail line, everyone was offered a free sausage sizzle. The Department of Transport also organised activities and giveaways from 9am-11am. Wanna see what activities were available this morning? Find out in this video!!
